Andrew Wiggins has been a member of the Warriors for 20 months, but he has yet to play a single game with Klay Thompson.
Thompson, of course, has missed the last two NBA seasons -- first with a torn left ACL and next with a torn right Achilles -- but is expected to return before the end of the calendar year.
Whenever Thompson does make his 2021-22 NBA season debut, assuming everyone else is healthy, the Warriors finally will get to see the roster they had hoped for when they made the trade with the Minnesota Timberwolves in February of 2020 to acquire Wiggins.

After practice Sunday, Wiggins was asked if he can believe that he has played in 83 games with the Warriors and none of them have included Thompson.
"It's kind of been a little mind-blowing, but I'm excited," Wiggins told reporters. "The whole team sees every day how hard he works, the greatness he brings to the game. So I'm excited to play with him, alongside him defensively, offensively and I feel like we're just going to bring it to the next level."

In May, Warriors coach Steve Kerr expressed excitement at the idea of Wiggins and Thompson playing together, and he reiterated those feelings Sunday.

"That's what we envisioned when we traded for Andrew, that he would be playing next to Steph [Curry] and Klay," Kerr told reporters. "He's so important to us defensively. I thought he was great the other night, really pursuing the ball and challenging every shot, making things difficult for the guys he was guarding. And you think about it, when Klay returns, we'll have more size on the wings between Klay and Wiggs, so we'll be able to have different combinations in terms of matchups. And a lot of versatility defensively, so it's exciting."
Thompson is working hard in his rehab and reportedly could be cleared for full practice within the next month. The Warriors don't know exactly when he will be ready or what version of Klay they will get when he does return.
The Warriors and their fans are counting down the days until Thompson is cleared to play, and Wiggins will be can't wait to suit up next to the Splash Brother for the first time.
