Why Wiseman is most looking forward to facing Lakers' Davis

James Wiseman is really looking forward to going up against Anthony Davis.

The Warriors’ No. 2 overall draft pick didn’t hesitate to mention the fact that he wants to take on the seven-time NBA All-Star.

“I study his game a lot,” Wiseman told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Grant Liffmann.

Davis is an elite NBA defender so it makes sense why someone of Wiseman’s caliber would study him. Davis also had the type of defensive scheme that the Los Angeles Lakers would build around.

Wiseman’s size makes him a threat. Having someone like Penny Hardaway coaching him and studying film of Shaq’s game is the perfect foundation to show the Warriors what he’s capable of and why they drafted him.

Wiseman also mentioned how he would watch the late NBA legend Kobe Bryant’s YouTube yoga sessions.

“I was like 'Dang, this is the greatest player of all time, so let me use this technique,' ” Wiseman said. “Other than that, it keeps you centered, it keeps you in the present moment, just keeps you very calm all the time.”
