When you have that sort of foundation, you can poke fun at each other.
"These world-class athletes, they're like X-Men," Obama explained. "Some of them you can tell are like the Hulk. You're standing next to LeBron [James], you know he's a freak. Stand next to Steph, and he's like one of those guys who has some superpower [where] he takes off his glasses or something.
"You can't see right away, but is just as much of a freak."
Curry in 2015-16 averaged 30.1 points, 6.7 assists, 5.4 rebounds and 2.1 steals, while shooting 45.4 percent from deep on 11.2 attempts per game. He made 402 3-pointers in 79 games, and became the only unanimous MVP in NBA history.
Yes, that gives you "freak" status.
And speaking of "freak," here is what Obama had to say about "The Greek Freak."
"I want to see if Giannis [Antetokounmpo] gets a midrange this year," he said. "Everybody's worrying about Giannis getting a 3-point shot. Giannis needs a 12 footer or a 15 footer.
"That's what matters."
Steve Kerr agrees.
