Steve Kerr was just like every other stressed-out Warriors fan watching their favorite team be haunted by countless turnovers in the Western Conference semifinals.
But instead of pacing back and forth on the sideline, Kerr was forced to watch Games 4, 5 and 6 from home as he was placed into the NBA’s health and safety protocols after testing positive for COVID-19.
Kerr, who has since cleared protocols and returned to his coaching role, addressed the media on Monday and shared how his experience went watching his team struggle from home.

Thankfully all clipboards were safe, but beer mugs, not so much.
“The beer mug that I was drinking my beer out of was close to being shattered after a few of those turnovers,” Kerr humorously told reporters on Monday.
Golden State committed more turnovers than the Grizzlies in every game Kerr missed. The Warriors had 16 turnovers in Game 4, 22 in Game 5 and 17 in Game 6.

Draymond Green and the rest of the team know they will have to limit their turnovers against Luka Dončić and the Dallas Mavericks.

That’ll be the focus for Kerr as he will rejoin the team as they prepare to take on the Mavs in the Western Conference finals.
And for the sake of all clipboards -- and beer mugs -- let’s hope the Warriors can do just that.
