Why Jason Williams prefers Kyrie's handles to Steph's

It’s well known that Steph Curry is the greatest NBA shooter of all time, but what about his handles?

Former Sacramento Kings guard Jason Williams stopped by SiriusXM NBA Radio on Sunday, where White Chocolate himself shed light on who he thinks is currently the best ball handler in the league.

Spoiler alert: It wasn’t the Warriors’ point guard, but it’s close.

“Kyrie Irving, to me, is the best ball handler of all time,” Williams told Rick Kamla. “What puts him over the top -- I mean, Steph Curry if he’s behind Kyrie … he’s not very far behind, is what I’m trying to say.”

Williams to this day is considered one of the best ball handlers the NBA has ever seen, but Irving stands apart from the competition today thanks to his versatile set of skills, he said.

“Just because Kyrie can get through cracks and crevices and finish with either hand at the rim and he can also shoot it from 30 feet,” Williams said. “I’m sure people are going to argue, ‘Well Steph can shoot it from 30 feet, too.’ I just don’t think that Steph can get through the cracks and crevices and finish with either hand at the rim like Kyrie can.”

If Williams were analyzing handles paired with shooting ability, ranking Curry as No. 1 would be a no-brainer. This season, he became the all-time leader for 3-pointers made in NBA history. His shooting prowess paired with his ball-handling abilities have made him one of the most feared players in the league -- something Williams is well aware of.

“But if you told me I got stuck with Steph Curry instead of Kyrie, I wouldn’t argue,” Williams said.
