Steph Curry is the star of the Warriors now. James Wiseman is believed to be a star in the Warriors' future.
But is there cause for concern about the on-court partnership between them?
NBA insider Tom Haberstroh believes so. Haberstroh broke down Warriors' offensive ratings and noted an intriguing pattern.

"James Wiseman is the kryptonite to Stephen Curry," Haberstroh said on "Brother From Another" in a segment shown on "Warriors Pregame Live" on Wednesday.
"It's very hard to get max Steph Curry when he has a 19-year-old non-passing big man, who has tough hands right now. It doesn't work."
Now, that's a big statement coming off of one stat analysis, but let's break it down. Per the Warriors' offensive rating this year, when Curry is on the court with Wiseman, Golden State averages 102 points per 100 possessions. When the two-time NBA MVP is on the hardwood with anyone else, the Warriors' offensive rating raises to 117 points per 100 possessions.

That's a substantial jump, but it's important to take into consideration Wiseman's inexperience as a rookie who played just three games of college ball. Curry, who has solidified himself as one of the NBA greats, is also in a new role as he looks to help gel the team this season to set them up for success for years ahead.

Stats are important, as is team chemistry, but sometimes that chemistry takes time to form. And sometimes, stats don't tell the whole story. Curry, along with coach Steve Kerr and Draymond Green, Wiseman's mentor, have all preached patience this season as Golden State tries to navigate a new identity. The team is big on Wiseman, and the Warriors front office knows if they want to return to the NBA Finals, they'll need max output from Curry, Wiseman and Klay Thompson, when he returns next season.
It's clear the Warriors believe in Wiseman as their center of the future and he likely isn't going anywhere. The Warriors will be without him for at least a week though, as Wiseman and Eric Paschall are both out of action for the time being due to COVID-19 protocols. Curry could miss the Warriors' game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday as well after suffering a tailbone contusion in Golden State's win over the Rockets on Wednesday.
When the duo returns, expect business as usual. The stats are an important storyline, but it's not time to panic yet.
