Why Dell Curry didn't make Dubs-Grizz bet with Tee Morant

When the Warriors' Western Conference semifinal matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies was finalized last week, everyone wanted to know if Dell Curry and Tee Morant would make a bet on the outcome of the series.

If you were hoping the fathers of NBA stars Steph Curry and Ja Morant would put a friendly wager on the line, you will be disappointed.

"I just spoke to Tee a little while ago. No bets," Dell told Bonta Hill, Chris Mullin and Dorell Wright on "Warriors Live: Playoff Edition" on NBC Sports Bay Area before Game 2 in Memphis on Tuesday night. "I've been there and done it before. This is a new ride for him. I understand all that. I'm not going to have the bet like he and Karl-Anthony Towns' dad did. No, it's none of that. It's new for him. He's enjoying the ride and rightfully so. I was just as excited as he is right now when the Warriors were on their first ride, when my sons got to the league.

"So I understand where he's at. But I can sit back and enjoy it knowing that we've been there before and we know how to get there. But it's exciting and great to watch him experience what I've been through, knowing what he feels like every single night. I don't have to sit courtside. I love the seat where I'm at, whether I'm here or at home. But it's good stuff to see where he's at right now."

Unlike the Grizzlies' first-round NBA playoff series where Tee watched each game courtside with Karl Towns, the father of Minnesota Timberwolves star Karl-Anthony Towns, Dell won't be sitting with the elder Morant.

For the Grizzlies-Timberwolves series, Tee and Towns made a bet where the father of the losing team had to take the other player's jersey. So when Memphis won Game 6, Ja gave his No. 12 Grizzlies jersey to KAT's dad.

While Dell and Tee won't be sitting together for Game 2, they made sure to meet up and talk before the pivotal clash at FedExForum.

With no bet on the table, the only thing on the line is bragging rights between Dell and Tee.
