Why Bill Simmons wouldn't do certain Dubs trade for Ben Simmons

A lot of "Ben Simmons to the Warriors" talk surfaced late last week.

ESPN's Stephen A. Smith went as far to say that he believes Golden State is "going to make a push" to trade for the soon-to-be 25-year-old, and that "calls already have been made."

On the most recent episode of The Bill Simmons Podcast, Ryen Russillo asked Simmons if he would trade Andrew Wiggins and the No. 7 and No. 14 picks in the 2021 draft in exchange for Simmons.

"I don't think I would do it if I was Golden State," Simmons said after a long pause. "I don't think you can play Simmons and [Draymond] Green together -- you're 3-on-5 offensively.

"I think he [Simmons] is an incredible defensive player. I just feel like he's such a liability offensively, why would you trade real assets for him?"

Possible spacing issues is a very understandable concern, and has been voiced by people all across the basketball world.

Furthermore, the Warriors might not be willing to acquire Simmons if it means parting ways with Wiggins, who just completed the best all-around season of his career.
