Steve Kerr is using the NBA's shutdown to show off his comedic chops.
The Warriors coach guest-starred on Thursday's episode of "The Second City Presents: The Last Show Left on Earth," a weekly sketch-comedy series airing on Topic's YouTube channel. The sketches are all remotely filmed due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and Kerr's appearance used his physical distance to the show's creative advantage.
Host Lauren Ash, a comedian who stars on NBC's "Superstore," played an expecting mother, Carol, about to give birth. Kerr gamely appeared as her labor coach via a service called "eDoula," much to Carol's surprise.

"Well, in both cases, you're coaching babies," Kerr quipped.

I won't spoil any other jokes, but the sketch gets lots of mileage out of Kerr's time on the Bulls. There are references to "The Last Dance," Michael Jordan punching Kerr in the face and even a nod to former Bulls (and Warriors!) reserve Dickey Simpkins, which is extremely fitting considering the legendary improv comedy training ground's roots -- and continued presence -- in Chicago.
"It was fun," Kerr said of filming the sketch to Chris Alvarez, Larry Beil and Casey Pratt on KGO-TV's "With Authority." "We basically had a similar setup to this. There were four people involved ... two people acting, and two people kind of directing and the technological work. We kind of did a couple of rehearsals and then some read-throughs, and the beauty of it is they can just edit it, and take whatever clips they want and put it together."

I wonder if Kerr asked Jordan for any advice?
