Watch DeMarcus Cousins put up shots, lightly jog at Warriors shootaround

DeMarcus Cousins is determined to return to the Warriors this season.

"For me, my goal is I ain't planning on sitting," Cousins told The Undefeated's Marc J. Spears on Monday. "I don't know the reality of it. But for me, that is not what I'm planning on doing... It's definitely some type of bad movie. But I think it will have a very nice ending. Just wait for it."

Prior to the Warriors' Game 5 matchup against the Rockets in the second round of the NBA playoffs Wednesday night, Cousins was getting work in at the practice facility. The center was back to getting shots up and draining 3-pointers.

Cousins also went through drills with a trainer and was seen lightly jogging.

The big man tore his left quad mere minutes into the Warriors' Game 2 contest in the first round against the Clippers. The thought right away was that Cousins was out for the remainder of the postseason, but head coach Steve Kerr confirmed on Sunday the possibility of his eventual return

"He’s coming along pretty well, so we’ll just kind of wait and see," Kerr said.

The return of Cousins at any time this postseason could be a big boost to the Warriors. They have been out-rebounded 172-161 in their four games against the Rockets as the series is tied at two wins apiece. Adding the bulky 7-footer to the floor could certainly help that issue down the road if the Warriors do advance.

While Cousins isn't expected to return against the Rockets, he'll continue to work every day to be back on the court. He came to the Warriors to win a championship, not sit and watch.
