The Athletic's Shams Charania first reported the Opening Night date.
Durant signed with the Warriors in free agency in July of 2016, and played three seasons with the Dubs before leaving for the Nets in 2019.
The four-time scoring champion was named NBA Finals MVP in 2017 and 2018. He did not get a chance to win the award three straight years because he missed the first four games of the 2019 NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors with a calf injury, and then infamously tore his right Achilles tendon when he returned for Game 5.

Durant missed the entire 2019-20 season, so this will be his first time playing against Steph Curry, Draymond Green and the Warriors since Game 7 of the 2016 Western Conference finals when he was a member of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Golden State reportedly will play at the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas Day, which is expected to be their second game (unless they also play Dec. 23).
The NBA is expected to release every team's schedule (the first 36-ish games at least) at some point this week.
