Warriors vs. Timberwolves watch guide: Lineups, injuries, player usage

The Warriors have made a habit of beating the Timberwolves in recent years. On Thursday, they have to opportunity to continue that tradition.

A win Thursday evening will give Golden State the season series over the Timberwolves, who haven't beaten the Warriors in a season series since 2005.

Golden State will attempt to accomplish the feat without D'Angelo Russell, who scored a career-high 52 points the last time the team's matched up in Minnesota.

ROTATION

Warriors: Glenn Robinson III is coming off a career-high 25 point performance Tuesday evening, including 15 in the first quarter. Two-way guard Damion Lee is averaging 15.4 points, 7.1 rebounds and 2.5 assists over his last 10 games.

With Russell out and Poole in the G-League, fellow two-way guard Ky Bowman should get an uptick in minutes. As the days go by, the Warriors will continue to monitor Lee and Bowman's days in the NBA. At the moment, Lee and Bowman have eight and nine days remaining, respectively.

Cauley-Stein's absence means more minutes for Omari Spellman and rookie Alen Smailigic, who continues to impress in recent games.

Timberwolves: After a promising game 7-4 start to the season, the Wolves won just two games in the month of December, falling to the bowels of the Western Conference.

Much of the reason for the implosion has been the absence of big man Karl-Anthony Towns, who missed the last eight games with a sprained ankle. Over the stretch, the team has gone 2-6, falling to 12th place in the West.

Officials: Tony Brothers (#25), Tyler Ford (#39), JR DeRosa (#62)
