The Warriors are expected to name Pete Myers as one of their assistant coaches, according to various sources.Myers, who has been with the Chicago Bulls for the past 12 seasons, will join lead assistant Michael Malone on new coach Mark Jackson's staff.Myers was a scout for the Bulls in 2010-11, and was an assistant coach for nine seasons with the team before that. He served as the Bulls interim head coach for two games during the 2003-04 season. Jackson and Myers were teammates on the New York Knicks in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Jackson indicated on Thursday night after the NBA draft that he was close to bringing in an assistant, but was unwilling to mention Myers' name because he is still under contract for the Bulls.Jackson described Myers -- without using Myers' name -- this way to reporters: "(Myers) is a person that I knew if I ever became a head coach I wanted on my staff."
