Klay Thompson reportedly has been training without restrictions for a few weeks, and Warriors coach Steve Kerr didn't wait long to get a glimpse at him.
Kerr said he drove up from San Diego to watch Thompson work out in Orange County on Thursday, and the Splash Brother looked impressive putting up shots.
"It was great to see him," Kerr told KNBR's "Tolbert, Kreuger & Brooks" on Friday. "He looked great. He was moving well and, as you would expect, just knocking down [shots]. So, he looked good. He's not playing 'live' yet, he hasn't done any contact stuff, but that's kind of the final step and there's obviously plenty of time for that. He's right on schedule, and everything's going well."

Thompson tore his ACL during Game 6 of the 2019 NBA Finals, and he didn't play a single game this past season while recovering from the injury. The Warriors struggled in Thompson's absence, going an NBA-worst 15-50 before the league suspended the season due to the coronavirus pandemic in March.
As much as the Warriors struggled on the court, Thompson had a difficult time off of it. Kerr reiterated Friday that Thompson missing the entire season was a "demoralizing" experience for the All-Star guard.
"Because if you love playing that much, then not playing is just devastating," Kerr said of Thompson. "He really struggled this year not being able to play, and just not knowing what to do ... because he couldn't really do a whole lot in rehab. There was a lot of rest in the beginning, and then the team would go out on the road. Klay loves to be part of the group, bashing on each other and joking around. I just think he really missed everything this year, the whole experience. So I know he can't wait to get back out there."

The next NBA season reportedly won't start any sooner than December, as the current season -- which was suspended in March -- is yet to restart. Thompson will have plenty of time to get back up to speed.
