Warriors' Rick Welts in awe of rookie second-round pick Eric Paschall

Eric Paschall has caught everybody's attention.

The Warriors' rookie forward -- who somehow slipped to the No. 41 overall pick in the 2019 draft -- is averaging 17.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game.

The Villanova product has scored 30 or more points twice and led Golden State in scoring five times.

"Wow. Where did this guy come from?" Warriors president Rick Welts told NBC Sports' Tom Haberstroh on the "Habershow" podcast. "When you see him -- while he's physically a big guy and imposing -- his skill level is just way beyond what most of us expected to see at this young stage of the career.

"Being able to make his own shot, being able to be effective with the mid-range jumper -- as well as driving to the hoop -- he's turned out to be potentially one of the real great steals of the NBA draft."

Never forget the Warriors entered draft day without a second-round pick, but were able to acquire the No. 41 selection in exchange for $1.3 million and a 2024 second-rounder from the Hawks

Good trade.
