Warriors off to most dominating start ever by large margin

The Warriors are tied with two teams for the best start in NBA history. They stand alone, however, for the most dominating start.

Though both the 1993-94 Houston Rockets and the 1948-49 Washington Capitals share the 15-0 start the Warriors achieved with their 118-105 win Sunday night at Denver, neither of those teams were as commanding as the Warriors have been through their first 15.

The Warriors are winning by an average of 14.4 points per game – a pace that would shatter the full-season record of 12.28 set by the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers – and have posted 10 victories by at least 10 points.

The ’93-’94 Rockets took their first 15 by an average of 9.3 points, with five wins by 10 or more points.

The ’48-’49 Capitals had four victories of 10 or more points, while winning by an average of 7.3 points per game.

The Warriors will seek to completely distance themselves from those Rockets and Capitals teams with a win over the Lakers on Tuesday night at Oracle Arena.
