The Warriors on Tuesday afternoon announced that Brandon Schneider will succeed Rick Welts as team president and chief operating officer.

Schneider has been with the franchise since August 2002, and was elevated to chief revenue officer in March 2018.

"Brandon, first of all, is a leader," owner and CEO Joe Lacob said. "Brandon is very intelligent, he's collaborative, he's well respected, he's well connected in the industry. He's a team-oriented guy and a builder.

"The thing I love the most about Brandon is he's relentless. If you talk to people around the league, he's extremely well regarded for everything he has accomplished in all of his different roles."

The 41-year-old grew up in the Bay Area rooting for the Warriors.
