The Warriors, according to Forbes, no longer are the third-most valuable franchise in the NBA.

They now hold the No. 2 spot ($4.7 billion), leapfrogging the Los Angeles Lakers ($4.6 billion).

The New York Knicks still are No. 1 at $5 billion.

"The Warriors are the first team since the 1999 Chicago Bulls to break the chokehold the New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers have held at the top of the ranking of the NBA’s most valuable teams," Kurt Badenhausen wrote.

Golden State came in third four straight years from 2017 to 2020, was No. 6 in 2016 at $1.9 billion and placed No. 7 in 2015 at $1.3 billion.
