OAKLAND -- Warriors forward Harrison Barnes sustained a sprained right knee in the second quarter of the team’s 114-103 preseason loss to Denver on Tuesday night at Oracle Arena.
Barnes left the game with 5:38 remaining in the first half after banging his knee against that of Nuggets rookie Emmanuel Mudiay. Barnes did not return.
“He’s day-to-day,” interim coach Luke Walton said afterward. “When I took him out, just like Harrison, he doesn’t say anything. But once I substitute him out, he goes to the trainer. He doesn’t complain about anything and always wants to play.

“We’ll find out more later, but he’s day-to-day now.”
Barnes was not available after the game but an update is expected sometime Wednesday, likely before the team holds its open practice at Oracle.
The fourth-year forward is seeking a contract extension. The Warriors and Barnes’ representatives have until Oct. 31 to finalize a deal or otherwise he becomes a restricted free agent next summer.
