Warriors, 49ers and NorCal sports teams, players honor Father's Day

Sunday marks the third Sunday in June, which people around the country celebrate as Father's Day.

The teams and players comprising the professional sports world in Northern California got in on the action, and so did their families. They honored the dads on the rosters, the fathers of those athletes and even the dads who just root for them with some heartwarming social-media content. Many of the posts were heartfelt, creative and downright funny, with some checking far more than just those three boxes.

Happy Father’s Day. Thank you dad for teaching me the game I love. Thank you dad for all you’re time, effort and patience working with me everyday on my hockey. Thank you dad for the mental toughness that you helped instill to fight through the pain and accomplish OUR dream. Thank you dad for always being there for me and having my back. I always go back to our times on the ice together and the memories we created early on. When we created our own spring hockey team, those were some of the best years I’ve had in hockey. The way you brought us all together coaching our team with players of all different skill sets was amazing. You’re everything a son could ask for in a father and I’m lucky to have you. Love your son, Evander
