Devin Vassell is one of the top wings in this year's NBA draft class, and has been linked to the Warriors for months as a potential candidate to be selected if the organization traded down from the No. 2 pick.
Vassell, in a virtual press conference with reporters, said among other teams, he was one of the 10 prospects the Warriors chose to meet with ahead of the Nov. 18 draft.

The Florida State product surprised many when he appeared to have altered his jump-shot mechanics during the draft training process, which especially was confounding given how proficient he was at shooting from the outside in college, topping 41 percent from 3 in both of his collegiate seasons.
Vassell was asked about changing his shot, and said he hasn't done so, saying the video was taken out of context.
"It was the end of the workout, and we were just shooting from a lot deeper (than) from the regular NBA 3-point line," Vassell told reporters. "I just think it's from the angle that she took it, it made it seem like I caught the ball up how I had, a lot further than where I normally do.
"I've never attempted to change my jump shot, and won't change it because I've had a lot of success with the jump shot I have right now."
Many took pause at what appeared to be an altered shooting form that had made him so successful at Florida State, as you can see in the video below.

It is telling that the Warriors would utilize one of their 10 pre-draft meetings on Vassell, a player who isn't projected to be drafted in the top five in just about any mock draft.

The Warriors likely already have been presented with numerous offers to trade down, and the team would be wise to do their due diligence on all of the potential first-round picks available if the team does trade the No. 2 pick.
Choosing to meet with Vassell sends a clear message that the Warriors would eye Vassell in any scenario involving moving down. The former Seminole currently is projected to be the No. 10 overall pick to the Phoenix Suns in NBC Sports Bay Area's latest 2020 NBA Mock Draft.
