Steve Kerr says Klay Thompson could return ‘possibly Saturday,' but…

OAKLAND -- With Kevin Durant and Draymond Green returning to the Warriors on Thursday, it’s only matter of days before Klay Thompson also returns to the court.

“Possibly Saturday,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said in his pregame new conference, two hours before the Warriors-Bucks game at Oracle Arena.

“But we’re taking it day by day.”

The Warriors play at Sacramento on Saturday, then return home to face Phoenix on Sunday before road games at Oklahoma City and Indiana next week.

As the fracture in his right thumb heals, Thompson has been attending practices and putting up shots with both hands. Conditioning shouldn’t be much of an issue when he returns.

“He felt great yesterday, got in a really good workout,” Kerr said. “We’ll just make it day to day. But there’s a chance he could play Saturday.

“And there’s also a chance he will not play on Sunday, either. He’s literally day-to-day. But he’s getting close.”
