Steve Kerr describes Dennis Rodman, Draymond Green's impact with same word

When the Chicago Bulls acquired Dennis Rodman in a trade with the San Antonio Spurs in early October 1995, it was considered a very controversial move.

But as Warriors coach Steve Kerr said during the third episode of "The Last Dance" documentary, Rodman fit in immediately.

"Dennis was a dominant defensive player. And what Dennis brought was exactly what we needed -- somebody who gave us that edge on the front line," Kerr explained.

Hey, speaking of "edge" -- where have we heard Kerr use that word before?

From his 2016 NBA Coach of the Year press conference:

"Draymond -- don't ever change, if you're watching this. Keep yelling at me, I'm gonna keep yelling at you. It's the best. He provides the edge that this team needs. Without Draymond, we'd be in trouble. We would be too quiet, and too nice.

Report: Steph to join Warriors in Miami, status vs. Heat uncertain

Warriors' Butler shrugs off Heat return as just ‘another game'

"We need that edge. And when he brings it every day, and we have all that emotion, and that fire, it literally ignites the team."

From early May 2018:

"He competes so hard and he generates so much energy and competitive desire. He brings this edge to the game. We would not have a single championship without Draymond. I know that. He's such a huge factor for us in every series because of his versatility.

"But he's just one of those guys who no matter what happens, there's gonna be a lot of stuff going on. And I love it -- we need that."

Draymond and Rodman don't exactly parallel each other in terms of their skillsets, however.

The Warriors' "heartbeat" is more dynamic and skilled offensively.
