Steph Curry got his first technical foul of the season in the Warriors' 116-113 win over the Kings at Chase Center on Monday night.
While it might seem like Curry was just frustrated at a no-call, the Warriors star explained there was another reason behind his reaction.
"I think it's the mentality of, 'We just needed a little bit of energy and a little bit of fire,' " Curry explained to Bonta Hill, Chris Mullin and Festus Ezeli on "Warriors Postgame Live" after the game. "Draymond [Green's] been amazing, trying to push the tempo, bring our defensive presence that we haven't had all year."

The 34-year-old went on to say that with his technical, he hoped to raise the energy level in the arena from the fans and from his teammates as the game progressed.
"Our core and our vets, we know how to do it," Curry said. "I just needed to light the fire a little bit, kind of get the crowd into it, get our team into it and let them know we're here."
Curry added that after the crowd and his teammates got more energized, all that was left was to "make winning plays."
In particular, he recalled how Klay Thompson hit timely shots to start the fourth quarter, Andrew Wiggins hit big 3-pointers down the stretch, Kevon Looney and Green played lockdown defense when needed.
"It's a lesson, still, of what level of intensity you need to get to, just to win a regular season game because winning in this league is extremely difficult," Curry concluded.
For the Warriors (4-7) to pull out the tight win, Curry had to pull out all the stops in his 17-point fourth quarter against Sacramento (3-6).
Overall, Curry finished with 47 points on 17-of-24 shooting -- 7-of-12 from the 3-point line -- with eight rebounds and eight assists along with zero turnovers.
