Warriors fans received alarming news just hours before the 2020 NBA Draft, as Klay Thompson suffered a leg injury during a workout and is undergoing tests to determine the severity, the team confirmed Wednesday.
ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith believes the Warriors would be in major trouble if Thompson again is sidelined long-term, explaining that the Splash Brothers work best when they’re together.
“This is nightmarish. This is nightmarish. All championship hopes are out the window,” Smith said on SportsCenter. “You need both. You can't have Klay without Steph. You can't have Steph without Klay and talk championship.

It should be made clear that there is no definite news regarding the severity of Thompson's injury, and any indications that he'll miss significant time are premature. But Klay’s father, Mychal, offered a dim response when reached by NBC Sports Bay Area’s Monte Poole.
Thompson missed the entire 2019-20 season with an ACL injury, and was expected to return to the Warriors’ lineup this season.
We’ll likely find out later this week just how severe the injury is for Thompson, and whether he’ll be ready for the start of the 2020-21 season on Dec. 22.
