Steph rooting for Tiger in his return, makes Masters pick

Even though the Warriors are scheduled to play their final back-to-back of the regular season this weekend, we know Steph Curry will make time to follow the Masters at Augusta National.

As an avid golfer himself, Curry is no stranger to the action on the course, and he'll root for PGA legend Tiger Woods, who will make his triumphant return in the Masters, as the Warriors star told 95.7 The Game's "Steiny & Guru" on Wednesday.

"I like the way he went about it, because like 14 months ago, he was in a horrific car crash, thought he was going to lose his leg and the whole deal," Curry said. "He got to play with his son in that tournament in December or whenever it was, and then everybody's asking the question like, 'Oh, it's obviously Augusta, Augusta, Augusta.'

"So for him to show up and be behind the scenes just grinding, working and everything that you know about his competitive mentality. To come back from something like that, obviously, it's great for the game, obviously, it's great for this weekend and it's inspiring."

Even though Woods will return to the course, many don't expect him to make the cut in his first real tournament since the accident.

This wouldn't be the first time that expectations for the golf legend were low immediately following an injury or an off-the-course event, and Curry believes he can relate to the underdog mentality Woods likely will carry with him this week.

"I've had the underdog mentality a lot, and when you're a champion, it's hard to kind of speak on that when you're the man, you're the dog," Curry added. "But he's been the greatest of all time and the true underdog like back-and-forth back-and-forth, multiple times, and it's interesting to see that. So I'm rooting for him, obviously. Want him to compete. Something about that Augusta, Georgia, that brings the best out of him, so we'll see."
