Sunday night was a moment more than two years in the making for Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, and the Warriors.
After 941 days away from the NBA, Thompson made his return to the Warriors, scoring 17 points in 19 minutes during Golden State's 96-82 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers at Chase Center.
Thompson's return was filled with moments both he and the Warriors never will forget. For Curry, who has spent most of his NBA life alongside his Splash Brother, one moment, in particular, will stick with him.

SIGN UP HERE "I mean, pregame, the shooting time, our warmup," Curry said after the game when asked about what stood out to him from the night. "Before he got hurt, I usually left the court by the time he was coming on, and I got to feel that energy when he got out there—the first like four shots he made. I had to catch myself because it felt like the game. Everybody was going nuts, and I'm like, 'he can still shoot. He ain't lost that ability.'
"That was a cool moment. Just a different energy, a different atmosphere even in pregame shoot around 90 minutes before the game. So, that was cool."

Curry is typically the last Warrior to be introduced in the starting lineup. But on a night that was all about Thompson and the journey the five-time All-Star has traveled to return to Golden State's backcourt, Curry ceded the spotlight to his Splash Brother.

"It was special," Curry said of watching Thompson be the last one introduced and the ovation that followed. "Just set up for the love that I know he has been waiting for and just that moment when you can hear the crown. To know that he has gone through so many highs and lows over the last two-and-a-half years, and that was the moment he could celebrate that journey and just go hoop.
"It delivered. It delivered for sure. I got goosebumps on the other side of the court just watching big smiles and all that he's earned, deserved that welcome back to the court moment, and that was special."
It was a moment no one within the Warriors or around the Bay Area will soon forget. A moment that took 941 days of blood, sweat, and tears to become a reality.
