Steph leads guards, third overall in first All-Star voting

Steph Curry received the most votes among guards in the first fan returns of NBA All-Star voting.

By a very large amount.

The Warriors superstar racked up 2,113,178 votes, with Luka Doncic getting the second-most at 1,395,719.

Curry finished third overall, trailing Kevin Durant (2,302,705) and LeBron James (2,288,676).

The two-time NBA MVP is averaging 28.1 points, 6.4 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.4 steals over his last eight games, while shooting 52 percent from the field and an astounding 49.4 percent from 3-point territory.

Andrew Wiggins -- who is looking for his first All-Star nod -- earned the seventh-most votes among Western Conference frontcourt players.

Klay Thompson, who has not played a single game this season, still racked up the 10th-most votes.

The second fan returns will be announced next Thursday.
