Steph continues to wow Myers as ‘cheat code' for Warriors

Bob Myers continues to be in awe of Steph Curry.

In speaking with former Warriors forwards Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on the latest episode of "All The Smoke," the Warriors general manager spoke at length about what separates Curry from other stars.

"Curry's stability has been the main reason," Myers explained to Barnes and Jackson.

While discussing Curry's calm demeanor with the former Warriors players, Myers told Barnes and Jackson what it was like to have the 34-year-old in the organization.

"If you guys were the GM and you had him, it's almost like a cheat code and your responsibility is to not screw it up," Myers said. "Do not screw his career up."

Myers notes that while some pundits might say it is "easy" to keep a player with Curry's talent on the path to superstardom, the Warriors' GM said it was anything but.

Additionally, Myers added that seeing Curry hoist his fourth NBA championship trophy and win his first Finals MVP was a great feeling, especially since Curry had been the target of so many criticisms in his career.

Why Steph is ‘dream' NBA player for commissioner Silver

"It answered all the questions that people were putting on this guy and that's why I think you saw him feel the way he felt because he was kind of like, 'Can you leave me alone? Is this enough? Have I done enough?' " Myers concluded.

Before winning his fourth championship in eight seasons, some pundits and fans tended to put an asterisk next to Curry's name for various reasons, be it for having Kevin Durant as a teammate for three seasons or something else.

However, by winning championships both with and without Durant, and proving he was the best player in Golden State's most recent run, Curry undoubtedly quieted any naysayers he might have.

As a result, basketball pundits like ESPN's Stephen A. Smith have begun noticing Curry as a model NBA star and icon.

And while this might seem like news to people who now are noticing Curry's greatness, Myers has seen it since Day 1 and continues to be amazed at how the Warriors' star conducts himself.
