Anything that could go wrong went wrong in the first quarter for the Warriors on Tuesday night against the Dallas Mavericks. The Warriors failed to score for almost 10 straight minutes, allowing the Mavericks to go on a 28-0 run.
After the game, Curry discussed getting blown out at home and why this game was so important as the Warriors try desperately to avoid the play-in tournament.
“It just stings getting blown out," Curry said. "We know the context of where we’re at in the season. Like I said two nights ago when I was up here, it was the biggest game because it was the one that was next and we were staying in the moment. We dropped the ball, didn’t play well, got blown out. We didn’t really have any life in the first quarter, it was a tough one.”

One team going on a 28-0 run is quite the anomaly. Curry explained how it got so out of hand.
“It’s tough. It’s not for a lack of [effort]. We’re trying to do everything to stop the bleeding but sometimes in games like that, you make turnovers that bounce the right way so that they get an easy layup or an offensive rebound that goes right to a three-point shooter. Every miscommunication you have, they make you pay by not knocking down the shot. It’s the perfect storm of literally everything going their way, whether they caused it or not. It’s a tough one.”
“I don’t think anybody in our locker room is complaining about being tired, and nor should they. Games like these happen to a certain extent, it just sucks that it’s a team that you’re chasing so closely in the standings and knowing exactly where we are in terms of that battle to secure some momentum in that playoff chase.”
