Spencer Dinwiddie rocks Colin Kaepernick kicks during Nets-Warriors

Ahead of the Nets-Warriors game Saturday night, Brooklyn guard Spencer Dinwiddie paid tribute to former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

Dinwiddie wore shoes colored in the 49ers' red and gold, featuring Kaepernick's likeness on the outside and the phrase "With Kap" in front of the laces. The 49ers are the last team Kaepernick played for, and he remains a free agent after kneeling to protest racial inequality and police brutality during the 2016 NFL season.

Diniwddie wrote on his Instagram page that he intended to wear the shoes "not to create division but rather to bring us together" since the issues Kaepernick raised are "bigger than basketball." The 25-year-old currently is auctioning the shoes for the next week, with bids starting at $350. He wrote on Instagram that he hopes to get in contact with Kaepernick to donate the proceeds to a charity of the QB's choice.

Throughout the season, Dinwiddie has auctioned off game-worn shoes to charity, including a pair of Allen Iverson-inspired kicks worn last week in a game against the Philadelpha 76ers. The shoes were made by Dinwiddie's custom sneaker company, K8IROS.
