The Warriors' search for a backup point guard reportedly has turned to a fan-favorite and former NBA All-Star.
Isaiah Thomas will be working out for the Warriors next week, sources told HoopsHype's Jorge Sierra and Michael Scotto.

Thomas, 32, played just three games in the NBA last season. He averaged 7.7 points while averaging 16 minutes off the bench for the New Orleans Pelicans.
However, he played this offseason in his hometown Seattle, dropping 81 points in a single game during Jamal Crawford's TheCrawsOver Pro-Am League last month.
The 5-foot-9 point guard was the last pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, but has proved to be worth more than that as a worthy scorer for multiple teams. Thomas reached the peak of his career from 2015 through 2017 when he was a two-time All-Star for the Boston Celtics. He averaged 22.2 points in 2015-15, and then 28.9 for Boston in 2016-17.
But he played through a hip injury with the Celtics in March of 2017 that derailed his career. A long list of injuries has seen him play for five teams the last four seasons.

If Thomas is indeed healthy, he could be the offensive spark the Warriors are looking for off the bench. They reportedly also are looking at free-agent point guard Ryan Arcidiacono and worked out retired point guard Darren Collison. Gary Payton II, a defensive stalwart, also could be an option.
None provide the kind of scoring that Thomas does. That is, if he's healthy.
