Ben Simmons wants out of Philadelphia. This, we know.
It won't be easy for him to move on from the 76ers though if president of basketball operations Daryl Morey isn't willing to change his absurd trade requests. Ahead of the 2021 NBA Draft, Morey reportedly asked the Warriors for James Wiseman, Andrew Wiggins and the No. 7 and No. 14 overall picks. The Warriors simply said no and hung up.
The Athletic's Anthony Slater reported Thursday morning that the two sides haven't talked since regarding a possible Simmons trade.

If Morey and the 76ers soften their asking price, the Warriors of course could circle back and entertain trading for Simmons. For now, though, it appears there are no talks on the table and there really haven't been any serious negotiations between the two sides at any point.
The Warriors clearly aren't interested in a ridiculous trade package to that extent for the 25-year-old All-Star. Then, there's the question of fit.
NBC Sports Bay Area's Monte Poole reported Tuesday that "according to league sources, any interest the Warriors might have in Simmons is conditional. In short, they’re not that interested as long as Draymond Green is on the roster."
Poole reports the Warriors' front office is divided on Simmons' potential fit on the court with Green. Both are dominant defensive players, but non-shooters who aren't close to threats from beyond the arc.

Right now, however, it seems that doesn't matter too much. These two teams aren't even talking at the moment and haven't for quite some time.
Rumors will continue, but for now, there's no need to save money for a Warriors jersey with Simmons on the back.
