Report: Possible Warriors target Batum returning to Clippers

Nicolas Batum will not be signing with the Warriors in free agency.

The potential Golden State target is returning to the LA Clippers on a two-year deal, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Batum was a rumored candidate for the Warriors with the $5.9 million taxpayer mid-level exception.

It's unclear how much money he is receiving from the Clippers, but multiple reports say he has a player option in Year 2.

The 32-year-old averaged 8.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 steals over 67 games (38 starts) with the Clippers in 2020-21, while shooting 40.4 percent from deep (on 4.1 attempts).
