Damion Lee's tenure with the Warriors is expected to continue this season, as his roster spot is "safe," The Athletic's Anthony Slater reported Friday citing a league source.
Lee has a $500,000 contract guarantee that kicks in Sunday, and the Warriors aren't likely to let the forward go before then.

SIGN UP HERE The 28-year-old just wrapped up his third season with the Warriors, averaging 6.5 points and 3.2 rebounds over 18.9 minutes. Lee tied a career-high with a 39.7 percent clip from 3-point range, something that the Warriors' second unit desperately will need going into this season.

As Slater indicated, Myers has emphasized that the Warriors likely won't be signing any additional free agents before the season gets going. Depending on what happens in training camp, the Warriors could use that final roster spot on Mychal Mulder, Gary Payton II or another young player who impresses in the preseason.
However, that spot also could be retained for a potential veteran who gets bought out sometime during the regular season.

Lee has proven himself to be a capable reserve in the NBA, and his combination of shooting and defensive ability on the wing could be important early on as the Warriors work Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody into action.
