Klay Thompson is preparing to face the Rockets in the Western Conference Finals.

He's also preparing for his future.

Klay and the Warriors have already began discussing a contract extension, according to Marcus Thompson of The Athletic.

The four-time All-Star will make $18,988,725 in 2018-19.

He is currently slated to become an unrestricted free agent in July 2019.

An excerpt from The Athletic:

"Two sources said talks have included Thompson taking an extension with an average of around $23 million a year — which would come out to about four years, $92 million, nearly $50 million less than he could get on the open market — and puts his five-year total at $111 million."

Since as early as last summer, Klay has repeatedly said that he can't envision leaving Golden State and would be willing to sacrifice money to stay with the only organization he has played for.

“It’s something that definitely crossed my mind, especially when you see guys like Kevin (Durant) doing it," Klay told reporters in China back in October. "One hundred percent, it’d be different if I was making scraps off the court.

"But I’ve been very blessed to be a part of winning team. When you’re part of a winning team, everybody gets to eat.

"So that’s why I’m indebted to the guys around me. Without them, I would not have the deals that I have.”

Last June, Thompson's representatives negotiated a new contract with Anta.

The deal runs through 2026 and could be worth as much as $80 million in total, according to ESPN's Nick DePaula.

The original deal Thompson signed back in 2014 was for six years at a reported $2 million annually.

The 28-year old also has sponsorship agreements with BODYARMOR Sports Drink and Built with Chocolate Milk.
