An excerpt:
We noticed someone had filed for the "Hampton 5" trademark in 2017 and a deeper dive revealed the man behind the application is Money 23 Green Enterprises ... aka Draymond.
The application was to use the trademark for everything from sports drinks to gym bags, cell phone cases, headphones, comic books, athletic wear and educational tools.
We reached out to the United States Patent and Trademark Office and a rep told us the application is still open. The window for anyone to oppose Draymond's application has closed, so now D.G. just has to file 1 more document to finish the process.

The unit is actually referred to as the "Hamptons 5," but apparently the trademark doesn't include the "s."
The nickname was first used by The Athletic's Tim Kawakami back in July 2016.
Interestingly, Kawakami wrote a column last week which included the following declaration:
There’s no trademark on the Hamptons 5 name, there won’t ever be one (taken out by me, at least), and there shouldn’t be a trademark on the Hamptons 5, unless it is owned and operated by five specific people.
That would be Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Andre Iguodala. They own this because they are the Hamptons 5.
Otherwise … not by me, no way. Let that name exist in the universe and if people like it or despise it or market it or tolerate it or forget about it in two or three days, whatever works for you, that’s fine by me.
We learned back in October 2017 that Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Kevin Durant, Andre Iguodala and Draymond -- the Hamptons 5 -- have their own group text.
On Wednesday, we learned that the house that Durant rented in The Hamptons when he hosted the teams who recruited him is on the market for just under $15 million.
