News of the deal was first reported by The Vertical's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Despite a 30-11 record, the Cavs fired David Blatt in January and promoted Lue from Associate Head Coach. Under Lue, the Cavs finished the regular season with a 27-14 record.
Cleveland, the No. 1 seed in the East, rolled through the first three rounds of the Eastern Conference playoffs. In the NBA Finals against the Warriors, the Cavs became the first team to erase a 3-1 deficit in the championship series.
According to The Vertical, the deal is expected to be announced with 24 hours.
