Report: AD will miss next Warriors-Lakers game to injury

It's a near guarantee the Warriors won't face off with Anthony Davis the next time they play the Los Angeles Lakers this season.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Monday that the star big man will be re-evaluated in two to three weeks with a calf strain. Davis underwent an MRI Monday, which revealed he aggravated the injury near his Achilles.

The Warriors play the Lakers to close the month out on Feb. 28 at Staples Center. Davis, 27, was forced to leave the Lakers' loss to the Denver Nuggets early Sunday night and was inactive twice last week.

Golden State has played the Lakers just once this season, winning 115-113 on Jan. 18. But Davis did score 17 points and grabbed 17 rebounds.

The injury of course is concerning for the Lakers and Davis' camp. It also should bring back bad memories for Warriors fans. Kevin Durant missed nine straight games in the 2019 playoffs with a calf strain and then tore his Achilles his first game back.
