The NBA Draft class is loaded at the very top.
It is perhaps even six mega-prospects deep, if you include FSU's Scottie Barnes along with Cade Cunningham, Evan Mobley, Jalen Green, Jalen Suggs and Jonathan Kuminga.
So where does that leave the Warriors with the No. 7 overall pick?

SIGN UP HERE Well, oddly enough, the Warriors might be possibly choosing between some of the same players there as they will be at 14th overall.
If you are one to check out all the various mock drafts and draft boards out there, you will see names like Baylor's Davion Mitchell or Michigan's Franz Wagner or UConn's James Bouknight listed as possible selections at No. 7 overall to the Warriors.
But you will also see those names possibly falling to them at 14th on other sites.
There is not a massive talent gap between those eight picks, which can be a blessing -- or a curse -- for the Dubs.

As a blessing, it means that the Warriors will have a chance at some great talent at the end of the lottery. If a player like Mitchell were to fall to them at the 14th spot, then the value there could be tremendous.
On the flipside, the Warriors also missed out on a chance to be in the top six, where the demand will be sky-high for the best prospects. What kind of trade value will exist at the seventh slot, if teams believe they can get the same players later on?
When picking in the early slots of the lottery, a majority of teams will pick prospects based on their future upside more than their current impact. But for a team like the Warriors, who are trying to compete for a title at this very moment, selecting a player at 14th might put them in a situation to grab a player that might have a higher floor and can bring an advanced skill to the NBA immediately, rather than taking a very raw, possibly high-ceiling guy.
The draft board will surely change over the next month before the draft. A month before the 2020 NBA Draft, no one would have thought that Patrick Williams would rise all the way to the fourth overall pick. Most boards had him in the mid-to-late lottery at that point. But workouts, interviews and measurables could change the landscape dramatically. Perhaps a prospect will emerge who has many teams scrambling for the No. 7 overall pick eventually.

I have been on record glowing about the possible fit of Oregon's Chris Duarte to the Warriors at No. 14, but should a player like Mitchell fall to that spot, it could be hard for the Warriors to pass on him. And this is a great problem to have.
One of the better scenarios that could unfold for the Warriors would be if a possible trade partner finds the No. 7 pick to be valuable, and is willing to part with an established veteran to acquire it. The Dubs could then keep the 14th selection, and select a player who can contribute right now as well.
Bob Myers and Co. will certainly be looking at all the various options and will canvas the league over the next month to understand the value of their picks. The seventh pick is obviously the better of the two on paper, but do not sleep on the value at 14.
