Protect the Js at all costs: GP2 helps out fan after collision

Gary Payton II is a man of the people.

During the second quarter of the Warriors' game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday at Target Center, the Golden State guard was chasing a loose ball on the sides and his momentum carried him into a fan sitting courtside.

After the brief collision, Payton made sure that the fan's Jordans didn't get scuffed.

The fan seemed to appreciate Payton's gesture, as he gave the Dubs guard a friendly slap after the play.

Payton had a solid first half for the Warriors, pouring in 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting and was team-high plus-five in the plus-minus. However, the Warriors trailed Minnesota 68-56 at the break.
