Those around Jordan Poole look at the young guard and think “future All-Star” amid his breakout season with the Warriors.
But his teammate Otto Porter Jr. believes the sky is the limit for Poole.
While taking on a major role with Steph Curry out, Poole has stepped up and blossomed into an explosive threat on the court.

Since March 3, Poole is averaging 26.4 points on 50 percent shooting from the field and 45 percent from behind the arc. He led the league with 67 made threes in the month of March.
But it’s his versatility that separates him from the other young players in the league.
“He has a little bit of everything,” Porter Jr. told NBC Sports Bay Area’s Grant Liffmann on the latest episode of the Dubs Talk podcast. “The way he’s moving off the ball, with the ball, pick and roll, he can shoot, I mean he’s a handful for the defense.”
Poole entered the league in 2019 after Golden State selected him with the 28th overall pick in the NBA draft. The then 20-year-old had an up-and-down rookie season, and his role in the Warriors’ lineup remained unclear going into his sophomore season.

And while a lot of outside noise questioned his fit with Golden State, Poole remained focused and locked in.
He also watched, listened and observed -- which helps when you have several NBA star veterans like Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green on your squad.
Poole understood the situation he was in and now, in his third season, it has paid off for the young guard.
“If you’re willing to listen and actually want to take that information and use it, absolutely,” Porter Jr. responded to Liffmann on whether learning from veterans really does help develop young players.
“And like I said, he’s with a bunch of guys that can instill that on to him, what it takes to be this and that, the level of hard work you have to continue to do.”
Like Poole, rookies Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody have also shown they listen.
The 19-year-olds have repeatedly shown they are ready to compete when their time is called, and their futures are promising.

“Our younger guys are not like most younger guys,” Porter Jr. said. “They pick up the things really well and they play beyond their years so with them they’re just constantly soaking up so much information and it’s only going to help us.”
While the Warriors’ season has fluctuated as we approach the end of the regular season, this team has proved that the perfect blend of established vets and energetic youngins can work.
We'll see what Poole, Porter Jr. and Co. have in store for the playoffs.
