Jordan Poole has understandably drawn some comparisons to Steph Curry during his Year 3 ascent from G Leaguer to cold-blooded assassin for the Warriors.
While there can only be one Curry, Poole has acquitted himself well when asked to play alongside the two-time MVP and when tasked with filling the Curry role when Steph is on the bench. The Poole-Curry comparisons got another jolt Saturday during the Warriors' Game 1 win over the Denver Nuggets when Poole poured in 30 points in his playoff debut.
Poole's 30-point explosion looked eerily similar to Curry's first postseason victory when Steph dropped 30 points against, you guessed it, the Nuggets (h/t WarriorsMuse).

On Saturday, Poole went 9-for-13 from the field and five-for-seven from 3-point range. During Curry's first playoff win on April 23, 2013, in Denver, Steph went 13-for-23 from the field but just 4-for-10 from downtown. However, Curry did not shoot a free throw that night, while Poole went seven-for-eight on Saturday.
Curry also recorded 13 assists while Poole notched only three.
The two aren't total replicas, but the similarities are eerie nonetheless.

Curry can see some similarities between him and Poole, but is quick to note the third-year guard has his own unique style and abilities.
“There are some patterns that JP has figured out that made the game a little bit easier, but he’s also different too,” Curry said Saturday after the win. “He’s got that shiftiness and change of speed and stuff. He just continues to find a way to make the defense pay for how they are guarding him. It’s only going to continue to elevate from here.”
The Warriors hope Poole can follow in Curry's footsteps again Monday in Game 2. Curry scored 29 points and dished out 11 assists in his second career playoff win.
The only question now is: What will Jordan Poole do for an encore?
