NBA Twitter erupts to Wiggs' monster Game 5 in Warriors' win

Andrew Wiggins has picked the perfect time to play the best basketball of his NBA career.

For the second straight game, the first-time NBA All-Star put up monster numbers to help the Warriors beat the Boston Celtics in an NBA Finals game.

On Monday night, in a pivotal Game 5, Wiggins erupted for a team-high 26 points and a game-high 13 rebounds to lead the Warriors to a 104-94 win over the Celtics at Chase Center.

This performance by Wiggins comes on the heels of a 17-point, 16-rebound effort in the Warriors' Game 4 win last Friday night.

With NBA Finals MVP frontrunner Steph Curry struggling from the field in Game 5, it was Wiggins who carried the Warriors to a three-games-to-two series lead over the Celtics.

Wiggins spent the first five and a half seasons of his NBA career with the Minnesota Timberwolves, and the common refrain was he never lived up to the billing that came with being the No. 1 overall draft pick. But with the Warriors, the 27-year-old has flourished.

One of the clearest signs that Wiggins is beloved around the league is the reaction of his former Timberwolves teammates and other NBA players, who were so happy to see Wiggins thriving in Game 5.

Wiggins punctuated the Warriors' win with a huge dunk and stare-down of Derrick White and Jayson Tatum.

After the game, Wiggins was asked by ABC's Lisa Salters what message he was trying to send with that dunk.

"We're here," Wiggins said. "We're here. We're hungry and we want this. The team that wants it the most is going to get it and we want it."

Here's how Wiggins' ex-teammates and the rest of NBA Twitter reacted to his massive night:
