NBA rumors: Warriors exploring proactive safety ideas at Chase Center

The NBA has a plan in place to restart the 2019-20 season in late July, but nobody really knows if the Orlando "bubble" concept will be successful.

And let's be real -- we have no clue what the 2020-21 campaign will look like. The league still needs to determine when the season will start, and what the salary cap and luxury tax line will be.

As a result, it's difficult for the Warriors to map out their future amid all of the uncertainty.

If there is no vaccine for COVID-19 by the end of the year, will fans be allowed in arenas? If the NBA decides to let local governments dictate the rules, will San Francisco give the Warriors the green light to open up Chase Center to Dub Nation? It's far too early to have any answers.

But as the franchise waits for clarity, it's looking ahead.

"In recent weeks, the organization has explored several proactive ideas, sources said," The Athletic's Anthony Slater wrote Tuesday. "Could they set up at-the-door coronavirus tests for every fan? What would be the protocol if someone’s temperature was over 100?

"What’s the best layout if the building could only fill 25 percent capacity? Fifty percent? What are the different legal and financial ramifications of each choice?"

With the situation being so fluid, these conversations surely will evolve over the coming months. Certain concepts will be scrapped altogether.

But the franchise has plenty of time to look into these options, and it's certainly smart to get a head start.
