Draymond Green already has made plenty of history on the court. He's a three-time NBA champion, three-time All-Star and the 2016-17 Defensive Player of the Year.
That's just the start to a long list of accolades for the former second-round draft pick.
The Warriors' star forward now has made history off the court as well. The Athletic's Shams Charania reported Monday morning that Green becomes the first Warriors' star in their current dynasty to receive an opt-out in a long-term contract.
Draymond also will receive a 15 percent trade kicker included in the deal, Yahoo Sports' Chris Haynes reported.
Green reportedly can opt out of his four-year, $100 million contract extension after the 2022-23 season. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson never received an opt-out option in their contracts.
Curry will become a free agent after the 2021-22 season, while Thompson is under contract through the 2023-24 season.

Green possibly left plenty of money on the table when he signed his extension one year before becoming an unrestricted free agent. But by having an opt-out option, he could have another chance at a big payday.
