The Warriors' playoff run is just about to begin, but there's always time for trade talk with Golden State.
Rudy Gobert is the latest name to be connected to the Warriors, as a Western Conference executive told Heavy.com's Sean Deveney he could see Golden State targeting the Utah Jazz center this offseason.
"If Rudy Gobert becomes available this summer, I think you'd find a lot of those veterans with the Warriors might want the team to make a run at him," a Western Conference executive told Deveney.

The exec posits that the Warriors would send Andrew Wiggins and James Wiseman to Utah for Gobert.
"Talent-wise, Wiggins, and Wiseman for Gobert is a good deal for both sides," the exec told Deveney.
Gobert is a three-time Defensive Player of the Year, but he has been picked on in the playoffs as teams have found a way to exploit him when he's on the floor.
Gobert averaged 15.6 points and 14.7 rebounds per game this season, and there's no doubt adding the 7-foot-1 center would make the Warriors' No. 2 ranked defense even more stout.

Golden State also is in need of help at the five. Kevon Looney played all 82 games this season but he is an undersized center, and the Warriors would like to play Draymond Green less at the five as he moves into the late stages of his prime. Wiseman missed the entire season while recovering from meniscus surgery last April.

The hypothetical deal would allow the Jazz to shake up a roster that has failed to live up to expectations. Wiggins also only has one year remaining on his contract while Gobert still is owed over $120 million over the next three seasons.
From the Warriors' perspective, Gobert would help them defensively but likely isn't the ideal final piece to a championship run. Add in the barbs Green has thrown Gobert's way in the past and you could see why the fit might be less than optimal.
How the Warriors, Jazz, and other contenders fare in the playoffs will dictate what moves need to be made this summer. The NBA never sleeps.
