Myers cites one big variable for Steph's decision on Olympics

It remains unclear if Steph Curry will participate in the upcoming Summer Olympics in Tokyo.

The Warriors superstar is in the process of making his decision.

"If that's what he wants, that's what he should do," Warriors president of basketball operations Bob Myers said Wednesday on 95.7 The Game's "The Morning Roast" show. "And I think he's taking time to figure that out. We wouldn't try to move him in any direction.

"I know I don't think your family can go, which people don't factor in sometimes to these decisions -- I know he will. That matters, so do you want to be away?"

Curry does have two FIBA World Cup gold medals on his résumé (2010 and 2014), but did not play for Team USA at the Olympics in 2012 or 2016.

"In the mantle of awards and accomplishments for this guy, do you want that void filled?" Myers asked. "But it all comes at a cost. It's time, it's time away, it's energy, he has three kids.

"That's a personal one."

Potentially complicating matters for Curry is the fact that all three of his kids were born in July. And Team USA's training camp begins early that month, with the opening ceremony scheduled for July 23.
