Philadelphia 76ers general manager Daryl Morey long has dealt with losses to the Warriors stemming from his days as the GM in Houston. His Rockets were eliminated from the playoffs by the Warriors in four out of five years from 2015 through 2019, and he sent off a congratulatory Tweet following each series defeat.

After a 107-96 home loss to the Warriors on Monday night, Morey couldn't do much other than again send a virtual salute to his longtime nemeses in the Bay Area.

Steph Curry continued what has been a remarkable stretch for the two-time NBA MVP, as he dropped 49 points on 10-of-17 shooting from 3-point range. The Warriors star now has 11 consecutive games with 30-plus points, the longest streak in NBA history for a player 33 years or older.

Morey and the 76ers remain in first place in the Eastern Conference standings, and have a bona fide MVP candidate of their own in Joel Embiid.
