Moody's mom adorably tweets appreciation for fan in No. 4 jersey

Warriors second-year guard Moses Moody has gained a loyal following in the Bay Area since he was selected No. 14 overall in the 2021 NBA Draft.

Moody’s group of faithful fans are growing exponentially after his stellar performance off the bench in Golden State’s 114-97 victory over the Sacramento Kings in Game 3 of their first-round NBA playoff series.

His mother, Rona, was in attendance Thursday night at Chase Center. To her delight, there was another Warriors fan rocking Moody’s No. 4 jersey in San Francisco.

“I’ve worn my son’s jersey every single game for two seasons straight to make sure that there was at least one in the arena every game,” Rona Moody tweeted Thursday night. “Planning to continue until I start to see others wearing it.

“Well, I guess it’s happening.”

Playing without the suspended Draymond Green and the ill Gary Payton II in Game 3, the Warriors needed another role player to step up in a big way. Moody answered the call.

In 16 minutes, Moody logged a playoff career-high 13 points on 4-of-7 shooting and grabbed three key rebounds. It was an impressive performance for a player who found himself weaving in and out of coach Steve Kerr’s rotation all season.

He might have earned himself a bigger role in the series moving forward as the defending NBA champion Warriors try to advance past the young, up-and-coming Kings.
